For a private residence in Morocco, David Trubridge’s Coral, KINA and Kōura bring a sculptural presence to a contemporary home that opens completely onto its landscape.
The architecture is modern and deliberately connected to the outdoors, with a full wall of glass looking onto the lawn, pool, olive trees and date palms. Inside, a calm palette of sand, pale timber, taupe and oak provides a natural backdrop, with touches of lime green adding a vivid accent.
Three different David Trubridge designs are suspended in front of the glass as one composition: Coral, KINA and Kōura. Their different shapes, proportions and open structures create a vertical rhythm within the generous space, while their natural bamboo construction connects naturally with the surrounding landscape.
Positioned between the floor and the timber ceiling rather than above a specific piece of furniture, the pendants become part of the architecture itself. By day, they are sculptural objects against the garden; after sunset, their intricate structures come alive and transform the glass wall into a backdrop for light and shadow.
A quiet composition of three distinct forms, bringing together the natural landscape and the modern architecture of the home.
