For a private residence in Borgo Valsugana, Trentino, designed by Burnazzi Feltrin Architetti, we supplied David Trubridge’s Coral, KINA and Kōura.
The house is distinctly modern, with an open living and dining space framed by cherry wood panelling, white built-in elements, polished terrazzo flooring and full-height glazing towards the garden. The alpine character comes through in the use of natural materials rather than in any traditional styling.
Against this refined setting, Coral, KINA and Kōura introduce a more organic, playful element. Their open bamboo structures bring texture and warmth into the generous space, while their different forms create a varied composition above the living and dining areas.
The natural material of the pendants sits particularly well with the cherry panelling. Rather than competing with the architecture, the lights add another layer of warmth and craftsmanship, connecting the contemporary interior to the strong tradition of working with wood in the region.
By day, the three designs read as sculptural objects within the open space. After dark, their intricate structures come alive through light and shadow, giving the room a softer and more intimate character.
